Our story
At Firefly Hill Farm, every bouquet feels like reaching into a meadow and gathering a piece of the season. Stems of wild grasses and native blooms mingle with flowers grown in our fields, creating arrangements that echo the beauty of the land around us.
This farm has been in the same family for more than a century, and that legacy runs through the flowers we grow today. Generations before us shaped this land — carving fields out of the hillside and leaving behind legacy plantings that still thrive. The groundwork they laid, both in the soil and in tradition, continues to guide what we grow here.
We start with what nature gives — the textures of wild grasses, the color shifts of the seasons — and then embellish that foundation with distinctive annuals. Some are unusual varieties, chosen for their texture or color, others are modern cultivars that bring a cutting-edge touch. The result is a blend of native beauty and cultivated creativity.
The outcome is flowers with a wild beauty — blooms that carry both the character of this hill and the artistry of our growing. Each arrangement is part meadow, part garden, and entirely Firefly Hill.
Our care
I’ve been growing flowers since I was little — more than 35 years of watching, learning, and tending plants. My academic background is in ecology and soil science, which means my approach isn’t just about growing plants, but about understanding how they grow. That perspective guides everything from the way I manage the land to the way I handle each stem.
Every flower you receive has been carefully conditioned — harvested at the right stage, hydrated, and cleaned so it lasts as long as possible once it leaves the farm. I take pride in offering not only flowers with a wild beauty, but also the care behind them. My passion is in growing things to their best and sharing that care with others — providing flowers that are both ecologically responsible and of the highest quality.
